Owen Doesburg and Stephanie Fonseca gave birth to Calvin-Anthony Jay Fonseca also known as Jay,
on the 16th of May 1990. He grew up with 2 brothers Anthony (20) & Janneiro (10) and a baby sister Dior (3).
From the moment he was born he grew up with music, as he comes from a musical family.
His mother sang in a group called Boney-M and Mai Tai and his father sang in D-Cypha.
Jay started singing ever since he was a little boy, songs from bands like BoyzIIMen & Jodeci.
At the age of 10 he started writing his own English and Dutch lyrics, but never used them.
As the years went by, as he grew up in a musical environment,
he learned how to play the piano, guitar & violin. The love for music has always been there.
In 2001 he started beat-boxing with some friends on the block, after 2 years of beat-boxing,
Jay began focusing on his skills of writing songs and tried to develop his voice by singing songs by famous artists. His first song that was picked up by his local listeners was a Dutch song called ’’Jij bent niet alleen’’ (translated = You are not alone) in 2005. This song became a local hit.
At the end of the year 2006 he met his manager Giorgio Lima and joined the G2 Entertainmentz.
He started to perform in local clubhouses, discos and block-parties.
Whenever Jay performs he always gets the audience to go wild and it seems that people really love to see him perform.
Jay is known for his thick and very mature voice ever since he was a young teenager.
He has worked with some well known producers in Holland, producers like the Missionairiez, Xaline & Omega Supreme (Free2Rotate) and Marc 9 keyz. Jay has also done some features for some famous Dutch rappers and did studio recordings for free to rotate this is one of the biggest
Dutch Hip Hop labels. Because of Jay’s big potential and talent, he and his manager have decided to follow an international course in terms of his career. This young, good looking and very talented singer is 100% motivated and eager to let the world hear what he has to say and already there are some labels knocking on his managers door.
